Rare.us Launches Second Annual “Rare Goes Yellow” Campaign to Benefit American Veterans
11/01/2016
Cox Media Group site partners with Charlie Daniels to raise awareness
Rare.us announces the launch of its second annual “Rare Goes Yellow” campaign to honor veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Throughout November, Rare is partnering with The Journey Home Project – a nonprofit organization, co-founded by country singer Charlie Daniels – which connects donors to veterans’ groups that assist soldiers transitioning from deployment to civilian life. All donations made during “Rare Goes Yellow” will benefit The Journey Home Project, and Rare will match up to $5,000 in donations during the campaign.
To help spread awareness, Rare is dedicating a majority of editorial coverage to veteran profiles and stories on its site. Rare is also digitally “going yellow” from its usual red design during this time. Additionally, Rare Country will participate as a media sponsor for Charlie Daniels’ “Volunteer Jam” in Nashville, Tenn. on Nov. 30, and a portion of the event’s proceeds will go to The Journey Home Project.
“Many are familiar with the yellow “Support our Troops” ribbon of the past,” said Leon Levitt, publisher, Rare.us and vice president, Cox Media Group. “Yellow reminds our company of the courage and valor of America’s veterans. At Rare, we celebrate service and bravery, and we hope our efforts this month will draw attention to the causes close to and affecting the protectors of our freedoms.
A video trailer that details the campaign can be viewed on Rare Media’s YouTube channel.
