Free Calls to Nepal for Cox Digital Telephone Customers

ATLANTA, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications today announced up to 60 minutes of calls placed by its Cox Digital Telephone customers to landline and wireless telephone numbers in Nepal will be free through May 31, 2015. The free calling period is automatic for all Cox Digital Telephone customers with a Cox Long Distance service plan. It is retroactive to Saturday, April 25, the day the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit the country.

"On behalf of our 20,000 employees nationwide, we want to extend our support to our customers and the communities affected by the recent earthquake in Nepal," said Cox President Pat Esser.  "Connecting to families and loved ones quickly during a crisis is critical; our hope is to make the connections easier for our customers during this difficult time."

Customers do not need to take any action to receive this discount. It will automatically be applied to their account. Cox also offered free calls to the Philippines for its long distance customers in response to Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013.
