NEW ORLEANS, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Drytunes, the waterproof wireless speaker with internal dry storage, won the Get Started NOLA pitch competition hosted by Cox Business and Inc. Magazine. The event took place live during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week last Wednesday night, March 25 and featured five finalists that were selected from over 40 businesses that applied to pitch.

Drytunes wins Get Started NOLA and accepts the check with Inc.'s Kris Frieswick, Voodoo Venture's Chris Schultz, Fleurty Girl's Lauren Thom and Cox Business' Steve Rowley.

Drytunes is a waterproof, high-fidelity wireless speaker with safe and secure internal dry storage. The speaker is designed to be played closed with more than 400 cubic inches of internal dry storage to keep phones, cameras, tablets, wallets, keys, and other valuables completely dry while enjoying their music in any environment. It floats with the lid facing up or down, and can be controlled wirelessly by any Bluetooth-enabled device or by non-Bluetooth enabled devices via an internal auxiliary input.  With the Bluetooth-enabled device safely protected inside, it can be controlled by a magnetic stylus while remaining closed (and totally waterproof).

Drytunes presented a two and a half minute verbal pitch and answered questions from a panel of expert judges, ultimately taking first place, $10,000 in cash and services from Cox Business and $950 in public relations services from AR|PR.  Expert judges for the competition included Lauren Thom, founder & CEO of Fleurty Girl; Kris Frieswick, senior editor at Inc. Magazine; Chris Schultz, founder of VooDoo Ventures and Steve Rowley, senior vice president of Cox Business.

Drytunes won based on the company's innovation, ease of implementation and benefit to the community.
