Cox Enterprises Promotes Steve King to Senior Director of Maintenance

Cox Enterprises today announced that Steve King has been promoted to senior director of maintenance, effective immediately. He will continue reporting to Barry Campbell, assistant vice president of aviation.

“Steve has more than 30 years of experience in aircraft maintenance,” said Campbell. “He delivers unparalleled safety to Cox’s flight operations. Steve is well-known as an industry expert and is at the forefront of new regulations and equipment.”

In this role, he is responsible for all maintenance and regulatory aspects of the company’s aircraft, a hangar facility, and maintenance staff. He also coordinates flight safety needs with technicians, dispatchers and senior management.

King joined Cox in 1981 as a senior maintenance technician and most recently served as director of maintenance.

He is the chairperson of the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) Maintenance Scholarship Committee and previously served on several industry committees and boards, including the NBAA Hawker Technical Committee, Gulfstream Aerospace Customer Advisory Board and Gulfstream Advance Technical Customer Advisory Team.

He received a degree in aviation management from Eastern New Mexico University. He holds several industry certifications, including: FAA Airframe and PowerPlant license, FAA Inspection Authorization and NCATT’s AvionicsElectrical Technician certifications. King volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and his local church.
