Cox Enterprises promotes Rebecca Siegel to SVP of Tax, Chief Accounting Officer
05/15/2024
ATLANTA (May 10, 2024) — Cox Enterprises recently announced that Rebecca Siegel has been promoted to senior vice president of Tax and chief accounting officer, effective May 16. Siegel replaces Jack Polish, vice president, controller and chief accounting officer, who has decided to retire at the end of June.
In this role, Siegel will oversee the financial reporting and corporate accounting functions at Cox Enterprises while continuing to lead the income and operating tax functions responsible for tax accounting, planning and audit defense on behalf of Cox and its subsidiaries.
Siegel’s journey at Cox began in 2003 as a senior tax associate. Throughout her 20 years with the company, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, resulting in her appointment as the head of the Tax team in 2022. Before joining Cox, she worked in the Atlanta offices of Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen.
“She and her team have done an excellent job meeting the growing demands from regulatory and business growth, efficiently integrating new technologies and building a pipeline of talent for succession, all while providing excellent service to our business partners,” said Maria Friedman, executive vice president of Finance at Cox Enterprises. “I am confident in her ability to lead our accounting and financial reporting services in the same manner.”
Siegel graduated from Tulane University with a bachelor’s in accounting and finance and a master’s of accounting and is certified by Duke University for Coaching for Excellence. She is a certified public accountant (CPA), a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and a board member of Broadband Tax Institute. She previously served on the board of Peachtree Middle School and is joining the board of Stage Door Theatre in Dunwoody.
