Cox Enterprises Promotes Mary Vickers to Vice President of Tax

Cox Enterprises today announced that Mary Vickers has been promoted to vice president of tax, effective immediately. She will continue reporting to Maria Friedman, senior vice president of tax and treasury services.
“Mary’s skills are perfectly aligned with this position,” said Friedman. “With operations in 40 states, Cox has complex tax needs. Mary’s attention to detail and flexibility continuously result in success.”
In her new role, Vickers is responsible for managing the corporate income tax function for Cox Enterprises and its subsidiaries. She most recently served as Cox’s assistant vice president of tax where she led the company’s state tax and audit functions and was responsible for tax planning for acquisitions and divestitures.
Vickers joined Cox Enterprises in 1998 as a senior tax specialist and has held the roles of assistant tax manager, tax manager, director of tax and assistant vice president of tax. She previously worked for Turner Broadcasting System and in the Atlanta offices of Deloitte and PwC.
Vickers holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Wofford College and a master’s degree in taxation from Georgia State University. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) and is a member of the Broadband Tax Institute and the Georgia Society of CPAs.
