Contour Video Product Illustrates Organization’s Strategic Use of Technology

IDG's CIO magazine announced Cox Communications as a recipient of the 2014 CIO 100 award. Through a rigorous selection process that considers entries from multiple industries around the world, this annual award program recognizes 100 organizations that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

In the last year, Cox completed the launch of Contour, the unique personal TV experience that includes individual recommendations across traditional and mobile viewing devices and the most robust whole home DVR on the market.

"For 27 years now, the CIO 100 awards have honored the innovative use of technology to deliver genuine business value," said Editor in Chief of CIO magazine & Events Maryfran Johnson. "Our 2014 winners are an outstanding example of the transformative power of IT to drive everything from revenue growth to competitive advantage."

Through close collaboration across functions and regions, Cox launched Contour in August of 2013 and it has had a positive impact on customer satisfaction, retention and sales results.

“With Contour, teams from technology, product development, marketing and sales and customer experience pulled together to bring a terrific personalized video service to our customers in record time,” said executive vice president and chief technology officer Kevin Hart. “We are proud to be honored among other CIO 100 companies that understand how technology can be utilized to create compelling products and customer experiences and drive value for the business.”
