Boston 25 News Wins Six New England Emmy Awards

BOSTON – June 29, 2017 – Boston 25 News had a great night at the 40th Boston/New England Emmy Awards Gala, taking home six awards.  The team was honored in the breaking news category, winning the Emmy for coverage of a high-speed chase on a major highway that stretched through several cities and towns.  The academy also recognized Boston 25 News in the news specialty report category for a compilation of coverage on the heroin crisis affecting Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Boston 25 News Anchor Vanessa Welch headlined the station’s four individual wins, taking home the Emmy for best news anchor.  Jacqui Heinrich won the award for best general assignment reporter, Joe Martin won for best news photographer and Steve Mitrano won for graphic design.
