Senior Vice President, Corporate Governance & Transactions, and Assistant Corporate Secretary

Deborah Lucy is responsible for leading the legal team that supports Cox’s inorganic growth and strategic financial initiatives, entity governance across all Cox subsidiaries, both domestic and international, and corporate governance, including board and shareholder matters. She serves as the assistant corporate secretary for Cox entities.

Lucy began serving the Cox family of businesses in 2012 as a senior legal consultant. In 2014, she joined the company as assistant general counsel, supporting mergers and acquisitions and developing internal entrepreneurial businesses for Cox Automotive.  She has since served as associate general counsel for corporate transactions and vice president for corporate law at Cox Enterprises.

Lucy has supported key transactions at Cox, including the Dealertrack Technologies acquisition, which was one of our largest acquisitions, and the sale of Cox Media Group. 

Prior to Cox, Lucy held leadership positions at News Distribution Network Inc., Burr & Forman LLP and Jones Day. She earned her bachelor’s in finance, master’s in international business and law degree from The University of Texas at Austin. 

An accomplished backpacker and conservation advocate, one of Lucy’s most notable achievements is solo thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail through 14 states in five months.  She is also an avid reader and a dog enthusiast, regularly utilizing her training skills as a foster parent to Atlanta-area humane societies.
