We believe it's good business to be good citizens of the communities we serve. Cox Enterprises and its companies support their communities through non-profit partnerships, volunteerism and both in-kind and financial support.
In Atlanta, Cox Enterprises supports many organizations on a variety of levels. Our community giving and employee volunteer program are designed around three focus areas: preserving the environment; empowering individuals, families and communities; and promoting diversity and inclusion
Cox employees volunteer regularly in the community. In addition, Cox employees donate generously through our United Way and EarthShare of Georgia Employee Giving Campaigns.
Below are samples of Cox's involvement in Atlanta.
- Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride: Cox Enterprises has been the title sponsor of the Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride since 2003. Along with being the largest team at the ride for the last 10 years, Team Cox riders have raised over $1 Million in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to sponsorship and fundraising, Cox Media Group Atlanta properties have donated over $600,000 in in-kind support through advertisements and public service announcements.
- Park Pride: Since 2009, Cox Enterprises has partnered with Atlanta-based park advocate group, Park Pride, to donate over 1500 employee volunteer hours for park cleanups. When new building construction required Cox to remove perennials, the plants - valued at $5,000 - were donated to Park Pride for replanting in local parks.
- Habitat for Humanity: Atlanta-area Cox employees have donated over 30,000 volunteer hours to build 19 Habitat homes for deserving families since 1994.
